Mobile devices are marketed with 3G capabilities and many people do not even know what 3G is. 3G is basically a type of telecommunications that is available on mobile devices that allows the usage of calls, data transfer and more in one package. The actual service is called the International Mobile Telecommunications 2000 model that is the 3rd generation of the service which was just shortened to 3G. This service is especially useful for mobile phones and many of the newer mobile devices on the market. Even some netbook computers are being fitted with 3G technology, especially by companies such as Verizon Wireless.

The 3G network is very wide and available in many parts of the United States as well as certain parts of the international world. You will most likely get service in Europe and portions of Canada and Mexico that have the telecommunications towers in range. Since Verizon is one of the companies that has been building towers in many places to transmit the data, you will be getting one of the only available signals that is nearly everywhere in the United States. Many other companies are beginning to commission 3G technologies for their devices and networks for high speed internet on their mobile devices.

3G Mobile Internet is basically available everywhere as long as you have a 3G capable device. Being out of coverage range will usually allow you to use services outside of the range that cost more but having a large network range is important, especially for those who rely on their 3G mobile internet capable devices. This is where many people simply buy something because it has the 3G label but are not able to use it with their company because they do not support the capabilities. It is important to research the companies and actually see of the coverage meets your needs.
