A 3G mobile Internet device is an electronic device such as a cell phone or a laptop that is equipped with 3G Internet. “3G” means “third generation” and this type of Internet connection is faster than the previous 2.5G and 2G connections.

What Type of Devices Have 3G Internet?

Typically, smart phones such as the iPhone or the BlackBerry have 3G Internet installed in them. Laptops also sometimes have 3G Internet capabilities but these are less common than smart phones that have this type of Internet within them. In order for users to access the 3G Internet from their devices, they must have a subscription to a 3G network.

What’s the Difference Between WiFi devices and 3G Internet Devices?

Many people get WiFi and 3G Internet confused. And one reason for this is because both terms refer to a mobile device that allows the user to connect to the Internet. But although they are very similar, they are also very different.

WiFi devices allow the user to access the Internet wherever they are, as long as they are in an Internet “hot spot.” This means that the network is not actually installed on their phone, and they must find a network before they can start browsing. An Internet device that has 3G Internet however, does not need to find an Internet hot spot because their Internet device works as their network. All they have to do is turn on their 3G Internet device and they can browse the Internet, email, and chat through social networking and websites such as MSN Messenger.
